Mark 5:21-24, 35-36 (NLT)
Jesus Heals in Response to Faith *part 2*
21 Jesus got into the boat again and went back to the other side of the lake, where a large crowd gathered around him on the shore. 22 Then a leader of the local synagogue, whose name was Jairus, arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet, 23 pleading fervently with him. "My little daughter is dying," he said. "Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live."
35 While he was still speaking to (the faith healed woman), messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, "Your daughter is dead. There's no use troubling the Teacher now."
36 But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid. Just have faith."

Jairus' crisis made him feel confused, and afraid; then once he was informed that his daughter was dead- he had to be (in that moment) without hope. Jesus' words to Jairus in the midst of crisis speak to us as well: "Don't be afraid. Just have faith (just believe, just trust me). In Jesus' mind, there was both hope and promise.
Do you feel hopeless today? Do you know someone who has lost all hope. It's time to redirect your focus and help them redirect their focus; to look at the problem from Jesus' point of view. He is the source of ALL HOPE and PROMISE. It is important to maintain hope and trust in Jesus because everything around us will tell us to do differently. This new year, I've restarted the Bible from Genesis again. And what I'm noticing is how from Adam and Eve to Jacob, Leah and Rachel (Genesis 1-30)- someone, at one time decided to look at their problem from their own perspective, or by how others would perceive their situation- and they walked right into their mistake. Sarah's disbelief in God's promise, had her give her husband to Hagar to make a child. Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden for looking at things from their own perspective. Cain killed Abel, when he only looked at things from his own perspective- and this list can go on and on and on. I can even look at my own life, and any time I decided to look at my situation from how I felt, and from what I wanted- the mistake was not far away from those thoughts.
Was God able to work in their lives and through them still? Yes. And praise God, He hasn't given up on me! But we all could have avoided much strife and terrible consequences, if we would have held on to God's perspective.
As children of God, we really need to push towards seeing things the way God sees them. Accepting that even when we don't understand how things are moving, that God's promise will succeed. Each and every day, we have to remind ourselves of this and live life with this assurance. Our days should always be bright. Our mood should always have some pep. We should speak to one another in hope. We should be the encouragers. Our decisions should be in the way of righteousness, because God has told us "Don't be afraid. Just have faith."
BE CONSISTENT! When that fear creeps up, take it straight to prayer. Give it to God and He WILL take care of You.
We are MORE THAN CONQUERORS and we HAVE the VICTORY!
Believe it!
