MESSAGE AND MINISTRY OF JESUS, THE SERVANT
Mark 1 v. 14,15 (NLT)
Jesus Preaches in Galilee
14 Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God's Good News. 15 "The time promised by God has come at last!" he announced. "The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!"
----
As we read the book of Mark, take the time to notice Mark's writting style. He tells us dramatic, action-packed stories. He gives us the most vivid account of Christ's activities. He features facts and actions, rather than teachings.
What is God's Good News? These first words spoken by Jesus in Mark gave the core of His teaching; that the long awaited Messiah had come to break the power of sin and begin God's personal reign on earth. Most of the people who heard this message were oppressed, poor, and without hope. Jesus' words were good news because they offered freedom, justice, and hope.
The Word continues to offer us the same things today. Whether it convicts you, lifts your spirit or encourage you; it's The Good News that will save your life as you learn it and APPLY it. Make it a goal in this book to really study Jesus. The way Jesus lived His life is the perfect example of how we should live our lives today.
- "THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NEAR! REPENT OF YOUR SINS AND BELIEVE THE GOOD NEWS!"

Prayer: LORD, Your Word is the good news. Blessed are those who live in Your house; blessed are those whose strength is in You. For LORD, You are a sun and shield; You bestow favor and honor; no good thing do You withhold from those whose walk is blameless. O LORD Almighty, blessed are the people who trust in You, like Jesus did every day of His life on earth (Psalm 84). Thank You for Your awesome life, Jesus. I love You. Amen.
