TGN : What About Your Friends?

Prayer: Abba, Father, Your love and concern for me when I am at my most vulnerable times in life is beyond my understanding. I thank You for the gracious gift of Your Holy Spirit. For Your love is ever before me and I walk continually in Your Truth. Rejecting the lies of this world and the enemy. Redeem me LORD, and be merciful to me, so that I can continue to proclaim praise to You all the days long. In Jesus' name. Amen

DEATH & RESURRECTION OF JESUS, THE KING

Matthew 26

Gethsemane *part 2*
v. 36-38
Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."

GOD SPEAKS THROUGH HIS PEOPLE! PLEASE TAKE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT REVELATION BELOW, FROM A FELLOW READER OF THE GOOD NEWS!

"Girl, that is a good verse.  You are right, there is so much in there.  For starters, sometimes, the plan that God has for us is so massive, so complex and bigger than anything we've ever done that it is scary, it creates great anxiety in us and we want to run away, but we can't.  We gotta stay the course and know that God completely has our back. That is exactly how I feel most of the time these days.

2nd, what Jesus was about to experience was soooooo major that he needed the emotional and spiritual support of his homies.
Jesus said, 'Stay here and keep watch with me.' &
'Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.'
Now granted, they fell asleep on him, but look what God is saying.  We must have a close circle of God-fearing, prayer warrior friends that will have our back when we are getting ready to do major, major stuff in life.  We need those friends as our support and we need them to pray for us.  That is just so eye opening to me.  There are people on this earth that it is my absolute responsibility to pray for, and thank God, there are people (such as you J) who are responsible to pray for me as I walk in purpose."

-thank you DS for sharing.

WHO ARE YOU PRAYING FOR & WHO IS PRAYING FOR YOU?
-it's important, stay encouraged!

DEATH & RESURRECTION OF JESUS, THE KING

Matthew 26

Gethsemane v. 36-46 *part 1*

Stay here and keep watch with me
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleep. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
He went away a second time and prayed, "Father, if it is possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done. "
When he came back, he found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.
Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

This is one of my favorite passages in the Bible. There are so many important things to catch here, I don't even know where to start. But we'll start with v.36-38, how Jesus was fully human. In verse 37, Jesus began to be sorrowful and troubled; admitting to His disciples in verse 38 that His "soul (was) overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.". How many of us have ever felt this way? I know I have- for different reasons. But Jesus experienced all the business that goes on and acts up inside of us (our minds, bodies and souls)- when we just want to give up!

Jesus was in great anguish over His approaching physical pain, separation from the Father, and death for the sins of the world. How small the reasons my anguish seemed compared to this! Right? The divine course was set, but He, in His human nature, still struggled. Because of the anguish Jesus' experienced, he can relate to our suffering. Jesus was heard by God because of His reverent submission. And although He was the Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered (Hebrews 5:8). Jesus strength to obey came from His relationship with God the Father, who is also the source of our strength.

CAN YOU COMMIT TO OBEDIENCE?
WHERE DOES YOUR STRENGTH COME FROM?

If you are suffering in any way. Take it to God, take it to someone who will pray for and/or with you. God is able to help, save and guide you in every way- just turn to Him. And if you need another friend- I'M HERE! :)

My Sister's Keeper

How many of you read the book?

Who saw the movie?

Who got to check out both?

I did!!! I finished that book in a week. Very simple read and very interesting. Characters you wanted to get to know and some you wanted to hate. But in the end you tried to understand where everyone was coming from.

I knew I shouldn't had read the book first- I mean I've been in this situation before. Where the movie just LACKS! The producers relied so heavily on the soundtrack. If you were overly emotional- it was because of the music because I don't know how you felt a connection to any of the characters. AND WHY WHY WHY! Did they think it would be cool to add characters, switch up roles of characters that held meaning which was lost with the changes.

The parts where I teared up the most was when Kate was with her dad. Before the prom and then when they were at the beach. Father/daughter relationships just get me!

In my opinion the book was way better and a much better way to spend your time-- and money.

I had to write about that! Ha!

Who's watch bb11! Forever my show! Even though they didn't cast me- oh well!

God Will Console

And today I believe He has for many of us. He has soothed the grief in our hearts.

God scatters the unfaithful, but He gathers those who return to Him and learn to obey His commands.

-What confirmation to know I am on the right track. God is filling my life with believers on every level- new, to backslidden, to fully faithful. He is gathering us together for His purposes. The only specifics I know is to love, pray and encourage one another. It shouldn't be taken so lightly as to why people return to or are already in our lives.

God is attentive to those of us who delight in His Name. Let's pray that God opens the door for each of us to release the message He has put in us, in all kinds of creative, conventional and unconventional ways. In order to relate to everyone. We are not all the same, we are all suigeneris, therefore we don't all receive in the same manner. STOP being so rigid ladies and gents. How harmful it is to turn someone from the kingdom with your judgments, hurtful (uneducated and un-spirit-filled) words and actions. Proclaim the mysteries of Christ, not what YOU think.

God's ways are so above our ways. His thoughts are above our thoughts. If you're not hearing from Him, you have no authority to answer or speak. So we have to be aware in the way we act towards all people; making the most GOOD out of every opportunity. Sometimes you don't have to say a word for people to receive the Holy Spirit that is within you. That's how powerful God is. Our conversation is to be FULL OF GRACE & SEASONED WITH SALT (the flavor of God).

God is not arcane at all. He is available to us all and is so understand. Share your heart with Him. He will listen, forgive and CONSOLE.

In Jesus' Name-Amen

TVOG 1

I'm currently reading The Voice of God by Cindy Jacobs. I will share the insight that I'm receiving, so that you too can grow from what's being deposited in me.

Some thoughts won't be complete, as I'm learning and can't share everything. I have someone who is holding me accountable. As we should all have in our lives. There will be questions in the TVOG blogs that I'm asking myself that you can ask yourself as well. I will relate it all to the Word and call out some connections in my life. Remember, most of this information is not arcane wisdom. We just need to seek it continually and live it.

Let's begin-

*Compromise- is it worth it? And how not to be so hard on myself when I do. What is the balance?

*Know boundaries - one of my next books will be Boundaries by Cloud & Townsend.

*Remember that life is exciting.
-every part of it. We get stuck on all the dumb stuff.

*There is NO truth in satan. He lies and uses lies only. He is the ultimate liar and accuser. It's time to recognize every one of those lies and rebuke them.
- Adam and Eve for example, satan gets us to believe that God is keeping something from us with His commands in order to be mean; as if we're missing something better. I fall into this lie every time I act or speak without God.

*This is a season of learning my strengths and weaknesses; which means thinking back (and in moving forward) learning from those who oppose me.

*allow God to drive out who and what needs to be removed. Because when I do it on my own, I can be wrong.

*God provides as it makes sense to Him, not me. And it's never too much- for He knows what happens when things multiply too quickly. So whatever seems like too much is a time to step back and ask God to prioritize because it only takes the Holy Spirit's discerning wisdom to figure it all out. And NOTE I said what God provides, not what I place on myself.

*confusion- destroys!

*"When I am ready" When God finds me ready, I move.

*it's ok to seem weak or seem however people think- because I know where my help, strength and purposes comes from.
It sometimes pops in my mind how people think I failed or gave up in some decisions I have made. But I have to remember Whom's Voice I heard and that their thoughts of me don't matter. This also goes back to a lie from the enemy. I don't know who is thinking that and if they are, who cares. I'm not living my life for them, I'm living for God.

*MATURITY this is huge confirmation. Do you feel that you've outgrown much in your life? Things that use to be fun, seem so dull and worthless now? And do people seem like they are just catching on to what you use to do? Well, I do! Today, it's more about innocent fun, the small things in life, my loved ones. Doing nothing for show and just living differently. I don't want to play around in useless activity or even conversation anymore. MATURITY IS A BIG THEME FOR US TO RECOGNIZE TODAY.
-Maturity in our understanding of Jesus and the Word.

*Greeting people is important-be personable, - do the opposite of this world's customs and behaviors.

*Let God change my thinking.
-don't try to manipulate God.

*God's Will for us is good, pleasing and perfect

*MAJOR theme:: SUMBIT!

*The TRUTH sets me free from what may be true in the natural.

*Oh this hit me in scripture today: we are to obey the law, not judge whether it applies to us.

*God has established the work of our hands!!!!

*Reclaim and claim and receive all that God has promised in Jesus' name. Aloud! Every Day!
*God is repaying and replacing all that was stolen and lost. Did something still your happiness? Well God is replacing it.

*This is a time of transition, so don't get frustrated if you feel stuck. You're not... Things are moving and we have to live in that unseen movement.

*laugh (loudly)- Laughter is the best medicine. Laugh, Laugh, Laugh!!

*Are you denying any Truth? Anything God has said you will do, are you denying it? Like the disciples and Peter denied what Jesus said would happen in Matthew 26.

*WE ARE OVERCOMERS!!
DO AS GOD INSTRUCTS -A reminder that it is not about us. Take ourselves out of the equations and just do what we're called to do.

*Be complete in God as a single woman or man.

*Teach people how to love God by the way I live

*Encourage, Uplift and Edify.
*Interceed (preparation)

* "renewal"

*God is definitely persistent
-anything Jesus says ~I need to do it!

Personally ***God is releasing the desires of my heart***

Denial

Prayer: LORD, you are my shepherd, I shall not be in want. You make me lie down in green pastures, You lead me beside quiet waters, You restore my soul. You guide me in paths of righteousness for Your Name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Thank You for placing this wonderful prayer on David's heart, and preserving it so that we can offer it up to You as well. In Jesus' name. Amen. (Psalm 23)

DEATH & RESURRECTION OF JESUS, THE KING

Matthew 26

Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial v. 31-35

Then Jesus told them, "This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written:
'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'
But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee. "
Peter replied, "Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will."
"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."
But Peter declared, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.". And all the other disciples said the same.

Jesus was laying it all out for the disciples. And yet, they continued to miss the fact that Jesus knew everything. He wasn't guessing that every disciple would fall away from Him or that Peter would deny Him. He was stating God's facts. Yet, they could not believe this. Is it hard for you to admit the worse about yourself? If we continue to deny it, we can't change it.

All the disciples declared that they would die before denying Jesus. (We will read in the future, if you don't already know the history,) a few hours later, however, they all scattered. And Peter sure did deny Jesus, as Jesus watch him do it. People say "Talk is cheap" and it is! People know how to talk a good game. Tell you all the things you want to hear, but where is the follow-through? People are so lacking follow-through today. It is easy to say we are devoted to Christ- and usually it's easiest when we're talking to believers. Are you able to declare your faith and speak about your Savior with and/or around your non-believing friends? Are you able to claim God's victory with them? Sometimes I think twice about keeping the web address of The Good News in my email signature when sending emails to certain people from my mac. WHY???? No longer, I've admitted my fault in order to change. Satan can only use what we keep secret. And he has no power over me. Our claims about our God are meaningful only when they are tested in the crucible of persecution. How strong is your faith? Is it strong enough to stand up under intense trial? Better yet, is it strong enough to show up in your daily actions?

DEATH & RESURRECTION OF JESUS, THE KING

Matthew 26

The Lord's Supper * part 3 * v. 26-29

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."
Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until the day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."

Each name we use for this sacrament brings out a different dimension to it. It is the LORD's SUPPER because it commemorates the Passover meal Jesus ate with His disciples; it is the EUCHARIST (thanksgiving) because in it we thank God for Christ's work for us; It is COMMUNION because through it we commune with God and with other believers. As we eat the bread and drink the wine/grape juice, we should be quietly reflective as we recall Jesus' death and His promise to come again, grateful for God's wonderful gift to us and joyful as we meet with Christ and the body of believers.

IMPORTANT: TO TAKE PART IN COMMUNION, YOU MUST BE SAVED AND REPENT-ASKING SINCERELY FOR FORGIVENESS OF ALL YOUR SINS. - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

It's not just a wafer and grape juice... You might ask, "How does Jesus' body and blood related to the new covenant?" People under the old covenant (Old Testament- those who lived before Jesus and followed God's law given by Moses) could approach God only through a priest and an animal sacrifice. Now ALL people, you and me, can come directly to God through faith because Jesus' death has made us acceptable in God's eyes (Romans 3:21-24).

The old covenant was a shadow of the new (Jeremiah 31:31; Hebrews 8:1), pointing forward to the day when Jesus Himself would be a final and ultimate sacrifice for sin. It doesn't mean the law isn't as important as it was then, but we don't have to find a perfect lamb anymore because Jesus was exactly that. The Lamb of God slain on the cross, a sinless sacrifice, so that our sins could be forgiven once and for all. All those who believe in Christ receive that forgivess.

WE HAVE VICTORY OVER DEATH AND AN ENDLESS FUTURE WITH JESUS.
