Do You Know the Scriptures or the Power of God?

Prayer: Dear LORD, let Your people be encouraged today, because You are with each of us and will never leave nor forsake us.  Thank You Jesus, amen!

Mark 12:18-27 (NIV)

Marriage at the Resurrection
18Then the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 19"Teacher," they said, "Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and have children for his brother. 20Now there were seven brothers. The first one married and died without leaving any children. 21The second one married the widow, but he also died, leaving no child. It was the same with the third. 22In fact, none of the seven left any children. Last of all, the woman died too. 23At the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?"
24Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? 25When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 26Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the book of Moses, in the account of the bush, how God said to him, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? 27He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"

◊——————————————————————————————————————–
Do you know the Scriptures or the Power of God?  Not knowing both of these gives us much room and opportunity to live in error.

After the Pharisees and supporters of Herod failed to trap Jesus, the Sadducees stepped in with a question they were sure would stump Him.  They might have used marriage in the question, but their question had nothing to do with it; it was about the doctrine of the resurrection.

For brief context of the situation here, the Sadducees did not believe in life after death because the Pentateuch (Genesis-Deuteronomy) had no direct teaching about it, and the writings of Moses were the only Scripture they followed.  But Jesus is no fool!  He knew the Scriptures and the Power of God, and He was ready to point out that Moses' books supported the idea of eternal life.  Jesus quoted from Exodus 3:6, above in verse 26, to prove that there is life after death.  God spoke of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob years after their deaths as if they still lived.  God's covenant with all people exists beyond the separation of life from these bodies.

Now, what life will be like after the resurrection is far beyond our ability to understand or imagine (Isaiah 64:4; 1 Corinthians 2:9), however, instead of wondering what God's coming will be like and who we will be married to or who we will see; we should concentrate on our relationship with Christ right now.  Why?  Because He is our future.  The ONE thing we do know is that we'll be with HIM.  We learn to love and trust Christ now, not then!

If you read Jesus' response to the Sadducees a few times, you may begin to see that He didn't really answer the Sadducees' question.  What He did do was refuse to answer their riddle and fall into their trap, by answering them with what they needed to know; He made them clearly aware of the ignorance they lived in, He let them know Who God IS, and He spoke the Truth/the Word in its right context.

Do you see how powerful Jesus was (and still is)?  He NEVER let go of God.  He NEVER did it His way.  He ALWAYS stayed on mission.  We should never believe just because Jesus was perfect, that we can't strive towards this perfection.  No, we won't get it right all of the time; maybe not even a majority of the time - but ARE WE AT LEAST TRYING...AIMING?  As the Scripture instructs us to (2 Corinthians 13:11).

I'm amazed every day as I learn more and more that all of this (what Jesus was able to do), is available to us as well.  We don't have to be trapped in the same old foolishness we find ourselves in all of the time.  What do we need to do?  We need to rely appropriately on the Scriptures (not using it out of context or manipulating it to fit what we want); and the power of God -  His HOLY SPIRIT.

It's time to pray...

Give to God, What is God's

Prayer: Heavenly Father, whose image we are fearfully and wonderfully made in; show us how to give You all that we are and all that we are created to be.  In the Name of Jesus, amen.

Paying Taxes to Caesar
13Later they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Jesus to catch him in his words. 14They came to him and said, "Teacher, we know you are a man of integrity. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not? 15Should we pay or shouldn't we?"
But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. "Why are you trying to trap me?" he asked. "Bring me a denarius and let me look at it." 16They brought the coin, and he asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?"
"Caesar's," they replied.
17Then Jesus said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's."
And they were amazed at him.

Sent by the religious leaders, two groups that normally had nothing to do with each other, joined together on a mission to bring Jesus down.  The Pharisees (primarily a religious group for ritual purity) and supporters of Herod (Jewish political group that approved Herod's compromises with Rome), thought they had the perfect question to trap Jesus.  But Jesus answered wisely, once again exposing their self -interest, hypocrisy, fear and wrong motives.  Jesus said that the coin bearing Caesar's image should be given to Caesar.  But what belongs to God

We, who are created in His image... We belong to Him.  YOU belong to God.  Our life belongs to God.  YOUR life belongs to God.

Are you giving God all that is rightfully His?  Not many of us can say yes to this question...  You may have accepted Jesus into your heart, but have you given Him your life?  All of it?  Not just Sunday mornings; every day.  Not just when things are going wrong, but when things are going right.  Not only when we're in a relationship, but when we're single as well.  Not only when we're with believers, but when we're with everyone.  Not when we have everything we want, but when we have everything we need.  Not in our timing, but all of the time!  Let's make a decision and commitment today; and every day:

Give your life to God-YOU bear His image.

STOP PUTTING ON THE IMAGE OF THIS WORLD; IT IS NOT WHAT WE ARE CREATED FOR.

Mark 12:1-12 (NIV) part 2

The Stone the Builders Rejected (v.10-12)
(Jesus speaking) 10Haven't you read this scripture:

" 'The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone;
11the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes'?"

12Then they looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd; so they left him and went away.

◊——————————————————————————————————————–
Jesus referred to himself as the stone rejected by the builders.  Although He would be rejected by most of the Jewish leaders, He would become the cornerstone of a new "building," the church (Acts 4:11,12).  The cornerstone was used as a base to make sure the other stones of the building were straight and level.  Likewise, Jesus' life and teaching would be our (the church's) foundation.

Question is:  Is He Your foundation?  Or is it money?  That man or woman in your life?  Your family?  Your job? Money? Your so-called "purpose"?

Our number one purpose is to praise our King, and through any assignments that are given to us, the purpose remains the same; to bring God's Glory.  So I ask all of us again, Is Jesus Your foundation?  If He isn't, today is your day to turn that around.  My personal desire for all of us, is for Jesus to be our everything!!!!   Don't you desire that?   Let's pray...

Prayer: Jesus, like our worship song declares - You are my firm foundation, the Rock of my salvation and I put my hope in Your Holy Word.  I put my hope - through my actions - in Your Holy Word.  Thank You Jesus.  We rejoice in You today and every day.  Amen!

Fear God or man?

Prayer: Almighty God, allow this Word today to plant and/or water the seed that you have created for each of us.  And as it is only by Your power, watch over it to make it grow within us.  As believers together we are Your temple.  Your Spirit dwells in and among us.  I pray that we strive to keep Your temple holy.  For Your Word declares that You will destroy anyone who destroys this temple.  Deal directly with the blatant and hidden sin.  Do not allow us to ignore it or gossip about it.  Destroy the yeast determined to grow and demolish Your people.  May we each take off the robes that have collected the defilement of this world and receive the new clothing of righteousness, peace, joy and faith through our LORD Jesus Christ.  And may we journey with You into the Glory of Your Kingdom.  You have given us a trust, may we prove ourselves faithful and contenders for the faith; that we may always bring forth Your Truth and Your Light.  I rebuke the deception of compromise; may we endure what is difficult and uncomfortable as long as it honors Your Name.  You are a Holy God, compassionate and a Good Master.  The title master has been tainted by humans; but it is a Holy position that You carry.  Thank You for being our Father, the only God, from whom all things came and for whom we live.  Thank You for the one LORD, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.  O God, You are our God and may we earnestly search, thirst and long for you each and every moment of our lives.  In Your holy Name, Jesus we pray.  Amen.

Mark 12:1-12 (NIV)

The Parable of the Tenants
1(Jesus) then began to speak to (the religious leaders who had just questioned His authority) in parables: "A man planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the winepress and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and went away on a journey. 2At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. 3But they seized him, beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 4Then he sent another servant to them; they struck this man on the head and treated him shamefully. 5He sent still another, and that one they killed. He sent many others; some of them they beat, others they killed.
6"He had one left to send, a son, whom he loved. He sent him last of all, saying, 'They will respect my son.'
7"But the tenants said to one another, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.' 8So they took him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.
9"What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others. 10Haven't you read this scripture:
" 'The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone;

11the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes'
?"

12Then they looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd; so they left him and went away.

◊——————————————————————————————————————–
It has been a while since we've read a parable, so to refresh our memories let's revisit what they are and why Jesus spoke in parables.  These stories were illustrations that used something familiar (remember the context of the time and you'll also noticed that the images and words used are all throughout the Old Testament) to help the people understand something new.  This method of teaching compels listeners to discover Truth for themselves.  The message gets through only to those who are willing to listen, receive and be moved to righteousness.

In the Parable of the Tenants, Israel, pictured as a vineyard, was the nation that God had cultivated to bring salvation to the world.  The religious leaders not only frustrated their nation's purpose but also killed those who were trying to fulfill it.  Among many evil motives, a self-serving nature caused the religious leaders to ignore the welfare of the very people they were supposed to be bringing to God.

The man who planted the vineyard is God; the vineyard is the nation Israel; the tenant farmers are Israel's religious leaders; the servants are the prophets, priest and leaders who remained faithful to God; the son is Jesus; and the others are the Gentiles (non-Jews).  By telling this story, Jesus exposed the religious leaders' plot to kill Him and warned that their sins would be punished.

Now here's the killer!  The religious leaders got the message, but instead of fearing the visible image of the invisible God standing before them; they continued to plot against Jesus.  And to add to this, they instead feared the crowd (man) and waited until another time to arrest Him.  What kind of sense does this make?
But, let me ask a more important question of all of us:  Are we hearing the message clearly and choosing to ignore God too?  Are we instead living a life where we fear man?  Are we choosing to live a life that is all about SELF?  In any situation?  Has God clearly told you that you're heading down the wrong road, making the wrong decision, hanging with the wrong people, remaining in the wrong situations, that you're not living righteously... and you are not moving towards correction?

Let us not ignore God, because trust me - HE IS SPEAKING!

Are you listening, receiving and being moved to righteousness?

Take some time to pray...

Mark 11:27 -33 (NKJV)

Jesus’ Authority Questioned
27 Then (Jesus and His crew) came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to Him. 28 And they said to Him, “By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority to do these things?”
29 But Jesus answered and said to them, “I also will ask you one question; then answer Me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things: 30 The baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men? Answer Me.”
31 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ 32 But if we say, ‘From men’”—they feared the people, for all counted John to have been a prophet indeed. 33 So they answered and said to Jesus, “We do not know.”
And Jesus answered and said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

◊——————————————————————————————————————–
The religious leaders were not looking for the truth; they were looking to trap Jesus, in order to get rid of Him, because He was undermining their authority.  One of the many things I love about Jesus is shown right here, in these verses.  He didn't argue and He didn't force what was right (I mean, the proof of the Word was HIM), to those who were not looking to really listen and receive.

When you are sharing your faith, which of these block out your message and cause it to get lost in debate and emotion?

I encourage you to read over these verses more than once today; to first, get to know who Jesus is; how He responded; what He repeatedly came up against.  And then, in these reads,  allow the Spirit to reveal to each of us, how we are to incorporate Jesus' example from these verses into our own lives.

While on earth, Jesus was amazing and He still is.  Let's really soak up all this good stuff, that He has provided for our growth in relationship with and in representing Him.

Prayer: I just want to praise You with my hands lifted up; out loud with my voice; with the smile on my lips; with the actions that I make; with the thoughts that I think.  I just want to praise You, dear LORD.  You are so awe-inspiring!  Thank You Jesus.  Thank You for the freedom to praise You.  Amen.

Mark 11:20 -26 (NKJV)

Have Faith in God
20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive
them, and you will have them.
25And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

◊——————————————————————————————————————–
The kind of prayer that moves mountains is prayer for the fruitfulness of God's Kingdom.  It would seem impossible to move a mountain into the sea, so Jesus used this illustration to show that God can do the impossible.  What are you asking for in your prayers?  How many of our prayers are about us?  "LORD, I need this!"  "LORD, I want that!  Where are the prayers about God's Kingdom?  I'm guilty of it; asking, sometimes begging for things I think I need, things I think will make me happy - without any regard to what's good for His Kingdom.

Seriously, does it make any sense to pray about anything else but the Kingdom of God, the Will of the LORD Most High?

God will answer prayer but not as a result of our positive mental attitude.  What does the Word say?
  1. You must be a believer.
- How can anyone pray/ask in Jesus name, and not believe in Him? (John 14:13,14)
       2.  You must not hold a grudge against another person. (Mark 11:25,26)
- Does it make sense to ask for, and expect favor in spite of our mistakes; yet we can't forgive ______ (whoever that may be) for theirs against us?

       3. You must not pray with selfish motives.
- Our prayers are often motivated by our own interests and desires.  We like to hear that we can have anything.  But Jesus prayed with God's interests in mind.  When we pray, we can express our desire, but we should want His Will above ours.  Check out Jesus in Gethsemane (Mark 14:36); then let's check ourselves to see if our prayers focus on our own interests or God's.

     4. Your request must be for the good of God's Kingdom.
- I challenge you to go through the entire Bible to find a time when God moved in opposition or without the purpose of advancing His Kingdom.  If you can find this, please let me know!  But I'm confident that you won't.   God does not work against Himself or without purpose.  NEVER!

*it's so important to seek who God is; to know down to the core of your soul and spirit*

To pray effectively, we NEED faith in God, not faith in the object ( job, person, circumstance) of our request.  If we focus only on our request, we will be left with nothing if the request is not fulfilled.

Faith in God!  Not in what we desire, is where we need to get family.  Faith in God for the fruitfulness of His Kingdom; not our own.  Don't forget we are heirs to His Kingdom; and this is where nothing is impossible.

Jesus, angry?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we praise You for the fresh Word that You offer to us every day.  It's so awesome to receive holy revelation that is consistently relevant.  LORD, we pray that Your Word is taught correctly, and by the leading of the Holy Spirit at all times.  That we adhere to Your Word responsibly at all times.  Please forgive us, if we have ever led any one in the wrong direction; and correct us, in order to bring us collectively to the right path towards You.  For I pray that our eyes all focus on Jesus at all times, and let Your Glory overtake this earth.  In the mighty Name of Jesus.  Amen.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple
15 So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 16 And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. 17 Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’”
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destroy Him; for they feared Him, because all the people were astonished at His teaching. 19 When evening had come, He went out of the city.

◊——————————————————————————————————————–
I challenge you to read these verses in every version/translation of the Bible.  Why?  Because many will teach a lesson on these verses and tell you that Jesus was angry; but as you begin to engross yourself in the Word, you will observe that the Bible is real clear to express what Jesus is feeling, when He is feeling it; and here "anger" is never written.   Go a little bit deeper and read the other Gospels; Matthew (12:12-17), and Luke (19:45-48), not one of them record that Jesus was angry; and John doesn't even mention this occurrence.

You or I would maybe get angry if we saw all of this religious and ungodly activity going on in God's House; but Jesus was simply focused on taking care of His Father's business.  Jesus took a stand for God's Word; and He didn't have to be angry or stirred by anger to do this.  Jesus saw all kinds of wrong operating in His Father's house; and instead of passively allowing it to continue; He took a strong stand not only againstit - but took action in removing it.

As believers, we don't have to get angry - but we should be moved to bring God's light to unrighteousness, trying to pass itself as righteous.  Jesus took a stand that not only got people's attention; but also, didn't turn the people away.  Verse 17 tells us, he began to teach them, giving them the TRUTH, removing the lies, deceit, injustice and darkness of sin.

There are so many lies within ourselves and around us.  It's time to take a stand and clear all of this mess out.  Seriously, we should be uncomfortable in the unrighteousness that simply chills with us each and every day.  Whether it's our own thoughts and actions, or those of other people; we need to follow Jesus' example and make it clear that these things do not honor God and are not of God.  But the only way to bring the Truth is to know the Truth; so we have to know this WORD!   So that once we clear, we can teach and fill it back up with God's Truth.

As we take our stands, we again need to remember how Jesus did it.  His actions got people to listen;, the only ones recorded in the Bible in turning away from Jesus, were the religious leaders who waited to kill Him for killing their profitable religious game.  So be conscious of your actions; let them emphasize moving people to listen; not turning them away.  Enlighten; don't destroy - and do all of this without compromising God's Word.  Unfortunately, believers care but are often passive about these important issues, or they go to the other side of the spectrum and begin to operate in hate, while contradictorily "representing" God's Kingdom; and then, many don't care too much about God's justice at all, they are overly concern with personal insults and petty irritations.

First, let's begin to STOP accepting the compromises.  Just because it's done; does not make it OK nor right.  Take a stand and be ALL IN for God.  Make sure your "stand" is directed toward the right issues, and handled by the leading of the Holy Spirit, in a matter worthy of God.  God is glorified when His children don't only seek for Him to have their backs; but live to have His "back" as well.

It's time to pray...

Fruitfulness Part 2 - The Temple

Hello-
So I didn't receive any requests of needing another day to sit with the "fig tree," so we're moving on...  The post will always be there for you, of course.  Lets pray:

Thank You LORD, for Your Heavenly Word today.  We are delighted to hear from You and look forward to what You have in store for each of us today; not only to receive revelation, contain it and keep for ourselves, BUT to share with others; through our actions and words.  Forgive us LORD for our selfish ways, and help us to forgive one another for whatever offense(s) we are holding.  Thank You for teaching us how to live according to Your loving way.  Praise the Name of Jesus!  Amen.

◊——————————————————————————————————————–
The Temple was supposed to be a place of worship, but true worship had disappeared.  Money changers and merchants did big business during Passover.  Those who came from foreign countries had to have their money changed into Temple currency because this was the only money accepted for the Temple tax and for the purchase of sacrificial animals.  Often inflated exchange rate enriched the money changers, and the exorbitant prices of animals made the merchants wealthy.  Their stalls were set up in the Temple's court of the Gentiles, frustrating the intentions of non-Jews, who had come to worship God (Isaiah 56:6-7).  Jesus was moved to stand for God, because His house of worship had become a place of extortion and a barrier to Gentiles who wanted to worship.

The Temple represents a few things for us today - (1) our bodies, (2) the church/body of believers, (3) and the building itself by which we congregate, worship God and fellowship.

Where does the corruption lie in your temple(s)?  Where is true worship of God absent?

And what are you going to do about it (DO IN A MATTER THAT HONORS GOD)?

*suggestion: start with you before you begin to call out everyone else.

TGN WOULD LIKE TO SAY:

Today we are honored to celebrate Geraldine!  Please join me in praying over our dear friend.

Prayer:  What a mighty God we serve, dear LORD!  Thank You for creating such a wonderful person on this day.  May her life bring glory to Your Name.  For You, Father, are the Supreme Authority -- a God deserving all the honor and the praise.  May Your Authority be Supreme over Geraldine's life; in order to keep her in healthy relationships and maintain harmony in every area of her life.  May Geraldine continuously choose to surrender her will to You, each and every day; so that she might find protection and dwell in the secret place of the Most High.

Father, thank You for the light  You have placed in Geraldine.  Thank You for the gifts, talents and abilities that You have instilled in her.  Thank You for the kind heart You have given her, to be a good friend to those in need.  LORD, You know exactly what Geraldine needs in her life today.  We confidently thank You for administering to those needs right now in the Name of Jesus.

May Geraldine bind her mind to the mind of Christ, and her emotions to the control of the Holy Spirit.  Help her to loose from her mind any and all obsessive thought patterns that try to confuse her.  Obedience is far better than sacrifice, and may Geraldine choose to listen to You at all times.  You deserve honesty from the heart Father; utter sincerity and truthfulness.  If this is lacking, may today be the day that Geraldine welcomes in this wisdom.  For today is a new day.  Let the celebration of her life be also a celebration of You, and the Promise You have created in her.

May Geraldine completely follow You LORD!  Putting aside her own desires and conveniences.  Yielding her desires that are not in Your plan for her; and even in the midst of her fear, choosing to surrender and trust her future to You.  May every moment of this good day, be blessed by sharing it with You.  We rebuke any and all attempts to steal her joy today and all days. In the mighty Name of Jesus, we thank You again for Geraldine, who is so precious and lovely in Your sight.  Amen.

Mark 11:11-14; 20.21 (NKJV)

The Fig Tree
11 And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.
12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14
And His disciples heard in response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.”

20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”

◊——————————————————————————————————————–
Fig trees, a popular source of inexpensive food in Israel, require three years from the time they are planted until they can bear fruit.  Each tree yields a great amount of fruit twice a year, in late spring and in early autumn.  The common fig bears a first crop, called thebreba crop, in the spring on last season's growth. The second crop is borne in the fall on the new growth and is known as the main crop.  This incident with Jesus occurred early in the spring when the leaves were beginning to bud.  The figs normally grow as the leaves fill out, but this tree, though full of leaves had none.  The tree looked promising but offered no fruit.  Jesus' harsh words to the fig tree could be applied to the nation of Israel.  Created to be fruitful, but Israel was spiritually barren.  Could these words also be applied to you?

Let's learn some basics about the culture of a fig tree, and compare it to the culture of Christ Jesus.

Location: Figs require full sun all day to ripen palatable fruits. Trees become enormous, and will shade out anything growing beneath.
  • As a child of God, we require Jesus fully, whom is our Light, all day, to ripen the fruit within us.
Check out His Word:

- John 1:1-5 (MSG) 1-2 The Word was first, the Word present to God, God present to the Word.  The Word was God, in readiness for God from day one. 3-5Everything was created through him; nothing—not one thing!— came into being without him. What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live byThe Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn't put it out.
  • Are you allowing Jesus to shine on and in your life?
Irrigation: Young fig trees should be watered regularly until fully established. Water mature trees deeply at least every one or two weeks.  If a tree is not getting enough water, the leaves will turn yellow and drop. Also, drought-stressed trees will not produce fruit and are more susceptible to nematode damage. Recently planted trees are particularly susceptible to water deficits, often runt out, and die.
  • As a child of God, we require living water, each and every day.  God is the spring of living water and Jesus is the One who leads us there.
Check out His Word:

- Jeremiah 2:13; 17:13 (NIV) "My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water."
"O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you will be put to shame. Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust because they have forsaken the LORD, the spring of living water."

- John 4:10; 7:38 (NIV)  "Jesus answered her, 'If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.'Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.' "

- Revelation 7:17 (NIV) "For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
  • Are you forsaking the spring of living water?
Pruning: Fig trees are productive with or without heavy pruning. It is essential only during the initial years. Trees should be trained according to use of fruit.  It is better to prune immediately after the main crop is harvested...
  • To "prune," is to cut of/remove anything undesirable.
Check out His Word:

- John 15:2 (NIV) "He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."
  • The pruning process is not fun, but it is necessary to remove sin, people and harmful habits that stop  the fruit from being produced.  Are you fighting the pruning process?
Pests and Diseases: Fig tree roots are a favorite food of gophers, who can easily kill a large plant. One passive method of control is to plant the tree in a large aviary wire basket. Birds can cause a lot of damage to the fruit. Nematodes, particularly in sandy soils, attack roots, forming galls and stunting the trees.Mitadulid and Carpophilus dried fruit beetles can enter ripening fruit through the eye and cause damage by introducing fungi and rots. They frequently breed in fallen citrus fruits. Keep a clean orchard by destroy fallen fruits and do not grow near citrus trees. Euryphid mites cause little damage but are carriers of mosaic virus from infected to clean trees.
  • Can you guess our "pests" and 'diseases"?  Yup the devil, evil spirits and sin.
-Check out His Word:

- Job 1:7; 2:2 (NIV "The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."

- John 10:10 (NIV) " The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;"

- Genesis 4:7 (NIV) "If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

- Romans 6 (NIV) "1What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. 6For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. 8Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. 14For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.  15What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! 16Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. 19I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. 20When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Are you going to allow the enemy destroy what God created in you?  Are you going to allow sin, to kill you?  KEEP A CLEAN "ORCHARD."
Harvest: Figs must be allowed to ripen fully on the tree before they are picked. They will not ripen if picked when immature. Harvest the fruit gently to avoid bruising.
  • Like the figs, we too must be allowed to ripen fully.  And this takes TIME, real personal and deep time in God's Word, with His Spirit and all in the Name of Jesus.  When we move immaturely, no one will benefit from the full goodness of God. And remember God is gentle.  He is gentle with us, therefore we should be gentle towards others.
- Check out God's Word:

- John 4:35 (NIV) " I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest."

- Revelation 14:15; 18 (NIV) "Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, 'Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.' "

"Still another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, 'Take your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth's vine, because its grapes are ripe.' "

I believe the Holy Spirit is revealing to many of us how detailed God is.  How nothing goes unanswered when it comes to Him.  To return back to Mark 11; the fig tree showed promise of fruit, but it produced none.  Don't be a vessel full of promise but lacking fruit.  Make the necessary decisions and actions of faith, that actually put faith to work in your life and displays substance.  If you don't you're like the barren fig tree.  Genuine faith has great potential; today, ask God to help you bear fruit for His Kingdom.

Mark 11:11-26 - Weekend Read

Good Morning!!!!!!!!

I have some homework for you this weekend, yay!!!!!!!!!!  It's simple, please be obedient.  Starting today, just READ Mark 11:11-26 in the morning and night (at least twice a day, you can read it more if you want to).  I challenge you to take another step and write/type/talk and pray to God about what He wants you to receive from theses particular verses.  I challenge you on that, but you don't have to.  I just want you to read.  I believe God will keep us on these verses for the entire week of April 19th, so I just want to make sure that we're all prepared.  Keep praying and reading.  And have a happy weekend!

JESUS' MINISTRY IN JERUSALEM

Mark 11:11-26 (NKJV)

The Fig Tree Withered
11 And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.
12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14
And His disciples heard in response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.”

The Lesson of the Withered Fig Tree
Forgiveness and Prayer
25And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.

JESUS' MINISTRY IN JERUSALEM

Mark 11:1-11 (NKJV)

The Triumphal Entry
1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, (Jesus) sent two of His disciples; 2 and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it. 3 And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.
4 So they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. 5 But some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, loosing the colt?”
6 And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. 7 Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. 8 And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread
them on the road. 9 Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:
“ Hosanna!
‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’
10 Blessed
is the kingdom of our father David
That comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest!”

11 And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.

◊——————————————————————————————————————–
This was Sunday (what we now call "Palm Sunday" - celebrated this month) of the week that Jesus would be crucified (that Friday), and the great Passover festival was about to begin.  Jews came to Jerusalem from all over the Roman world during this week-long celebration to remember the great exodus from Egypt (Exodus 12:37-51).  Many in the crowds had heard of or seen Jesus and were hoping He would come to the Temple (John 11:55-57).  Jesus did come, but not as a warring king on a horse, or in a chariot; He came as a gentle and peaceable King on a donkey's colt, just as Zechariah 9:9 had predicted.

Zechariah 9:9 (New International Version)

The Coming of Zion's King
9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion!
Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
righteous and having salvation,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

I love how everything in the Bible connects.

There was great purpose for Jesus to enter into Jerusalem at this time.  He knew that the massive amounts of people who would hear Him teach at the Temple would return to their homes throughout the world and announce the coming of the Messiah.  And the people were excited, exclaiming "Hosanna" (exclamation praising God).  They or maybe their spirit recognized that Jesus was fulfilling the above prophecy.  They mention King David's kingdom, and confirmed how God's promises are always fulfilled.  Check out 2 Samuel 7:8-11, when God declares this promise over David through Nathan (prophet):

2 Samuel 7:2-14 (New International Version)

8 "Now then, tell my servant David, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the pasture and from following the flock to be ruler over my people Israel. 9 I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men of the earth. 10 And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning 11 and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies.

The crowd knew something that they didn't fully understand; they didn't get where Jesus' kingship would lead Him. To put it into clear context, this crowd, shouting "Hosanna" on this day,  was the same exact crowd who cried out, "Crucify Him! when Jesus stood on trial only a few days later.

I find this fascinating, don't you?  It is fascinating because however many years later it is today, people still don't get Jesus.  They take His name in vain, they dishonor Him daily, they say they love Him with their lips, but disobey Him with their hearts and actions.  And we really have so much more, necessary to get Him and the opportunity to live an incredible life with Him.

I propose this question to all of us, to ask ourselves:  "WHERE AM I PUTTING JESUS TO DEATH IN MY LIFE; INSTEAD OF ALLOWING HIM TO BRING LIFE TO MINE?"

Chew on it; pray about it.  We can't pick and choose ladies and gentlemen.  Are we out? Or are we ALL IN for Jesus?

I pray we each make  at least one concrete decision to step in the direction of our Great Savior.

Love

"Imagine Me"

Hello-

Today I have to PRAISE our Heavenly Father!!!!!!!

If it doesn't come across in The Good News daily, let me tell you now: I LOVE GOD!  The Alpha and the Omega, I LOVE the Word, Jesus-My loving Savior, The Great I Am!!!

Whether you know me or not, I would like to share this with you...  I've made some dumb decisions in my life.  Many, many, many, many stupid decisions.  I've been mistreated, I've mistreated others.  I've been abused, I've abused others.  I allowed money and a seductively "cool" industry become my god, and almost destroy me.  I allowed this world to lead me even when I knew my God.  I repeatedly turned to the wrong things and people to get out of bad situations- that just led me to worse situations.  I just wouldn't give God everything. I stubbornly wanted to do it my way.  I wanted to live in sin with the blessing of God.  WHAT A CONTRADICTION RIGHT?

But I thank Him, for being so patient with me.  For loving me, when I didn't know how to love myself.  For forgiving me, when I couldn't forgive myself.  For placing the right person(s) in my life at the right time.  I thank Him for having a vision for me that's bigger than I could have ever imagine for myself.  A vision that is for His Kingdom and His people; and my future.  I LOVE God so much!  I see His Word with fresh eyes, each and every day, and I'm amazed at how God really doesspeak - we just have to listen.

At one time, I was living in sin, claiming to be blessed; praying to be blessed.  But I wasn't giving God any room to do anything; I wasn't obeying His commands.  He was providing solutions, but I wasn't takingthem - I was walking right pass them.  One thing I never did was blame God for my mistakes, but there are many people who do.  It doesn't make me any better than anyone, but can I ask,  "What did He do?"  I'm so thankful God isn't human, because  He FORGIVES mess - totally!  He offers us this opportunity that we don't deserve.  He sees who we are supposed to be; not what we've created ourselves to be through decisions or experience; or to impress others.  We're called to do something with the forgiveness though: walk a new walk, live on a righteous path, separate our actions from the way of this world! BE TRANSFORMED!

I say all this, because in January 2009 I heard God tell me (yes, I actually heard Him) to make a move that made absolutely no sense, but I was willing to take it because 1) I trusted Him; but 2) I was desperate to get out of the situation I was in more than anything.  If anything, I knew it was right; but I didn't know that God was going to completely change my life, beyond my expectations through this move.   June 2009, I left a job and a life that many people wouldn't have left, to come home and humble myself.  To let God have His way!  To spend time with Him and get to really know Him and what living life according to His Kingdom really is.  My life is totally different, it's not about the glam and self ambition.  It's about true light; really learning His Word, discerning His voice, doing everything His way, doing for others; it's about trusting Him every single step of the way. Simply put: IT'S ABOUT GOD!

I praise God daily because I've received so much; healing in relationships (the right relationships are still standing, thank You Jesus), in my soul,  and in my spirit.  I am actually happy and I know it.  I just realized I've never really known happiness before; and the JOY OF THE LORD - I am a witness at how GOOD it is.  I'm making more decisions from righteousness, and not emotion or selfishness.  I'm inspired to write and share this very personal note today because I'm currently experiencing something unbelievable; and I am a believer in praising God in advance, in it and after it.  He is amazing!  God is doing some magnificent things and is leading me every step of the way; placing me in the right places, at all the right times.  I don't even know the whole picture, but trusting Him is more real to me than anything I've EVER done in my life.  He has made me so strong, because He is my strength.   I have the most amazing Father ever, there is nothing  better than Him.  I love, because He has shown me what real love is.

I don't write this to tell you to to make the same decisions.  We each have a different story.  But God is asking for the same thing from each of us: Seek first the Kingdom of God (NOTHING ELSE); and His righteousness.  I am encouraging you, my friends, to get real with God, because this isn't just for me.  God really does answer because He is the answer.  He really does come through.  But He calls for righteousness.  How can He work on full blast in our lives, when we're tangled in sin; when we don't want to do it His way.
Do not do what tradition tells us, stop following the way of this world.  Do what Jesus commands of us, and specifically, do what the Holy Spirit is calling you to do.  Whatever it is.  TRUST HIM.  I encourage you all to listen to Him.  Because there is an amazing freedom in God.  There is a life that only God can create, because we would never be this good to ourselves.  There is great promise in God.

I could never have imagined my life today.  I am thrilled that God holds my present and future in His hands.  He isn't done with me and He isn't done with YOU.  He wants to do great things for you.  I beg each of you to allow Him to have His way.  It is the best way...completely.  It's not too late, He is calling each of us today.  Submit to Him my friends.  It's much more than begging Him to fulfill our wish list, it's more than church on Sunday (many of us go to church, learn and still choose to go our own way repeatedly)...It's so much more!  And I don't want any of us to miss this honest relationship with Him.  It is the relationship that became a true priority for me, that changed me.  Seek what God wants...

I've included the song below, because it's so personal - I believe we all can relate.  Play and just receive the ministry.  If this message speaks to just one of you; God's purpose is complete.

THANK YOU JESUS!
I PRAISE YOU IN ADVANCE FOR THE VICTORY IN EACH PERSON MOVED TO REPENT TODAY; CHANGE THEIR MIND/THINKING/WAY OF LIVING - IN ORDER TO HONOR YOU!  IN YOUR NAME.  AMEN!

Galatians 5 - Freedom in Christ

1It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

"My Way is Following Jesus"

Mark 10:46-52 (NKJV) *part 2*

Bartimaeus Chooses to Follow Jesus (verse emphasis :52)
verse emphasis : 52
52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

♥——————————————————————————————————————–♥
When I read The Good News this morning, this verse stuck out; so I had to create a part 2.  If you weren't caught by this verse, let me explain why.

Jesus told Bartimaeus to "Go YOUR way..." after He was healed.  Jesus did not say "follow me."  He didn't push Bartimaeus in any direction and this resulted in Bartimaeus having the power to make a choice; and he chose wisely, to follow Jesus after receiving His sight.  He didn't take his healing and use it to take part in selfish activity or return to sin.  His faith wasn't simply to use Jesus or for Jesus to do only for him.  He received His sight and decided to live for Jesus.  To honor the Messiah, the only reason worth living.
Listen, we have each received LIFE, and LIFE more abundantly in choosing to serve Jesus; but what are we doing with that LIFE?  Have we chosen to make our way, separate from Jesus?  Or is your way the same as Bartimaeus... Are you following Jesus?

I can't stress it enough: You have to make the choice, in all that you do, every day of your life.
Don’t let anyone stop you. Don’t let what you see deter you.  But sometimes it's not other people; are you standing in your own way?  I ask these questions to get us all to think.  Stop ignoring and face whatever it is, keeping the full glory of our LORD in your life.  Cry out to Jesus.  Call to Him.  Let your faith guide you.  Let Jesus lead you.

Today is the day to put off the old and PUT ON THE NEW!  Only you and God know exactly what that means for your life specifically.

**********************************************************
Daily Prayer: GOD IS CALLING FOR INTIMACY WITH US AND CHANGE IN OUR HEARTS AND OUR ACTIONS.  LET THIS PRAYER COME FROM YOUR HEART.  BE REAL WITH JESUS, HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE HIM.  REPENT.  TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE GOD WANTS TO MAKE IN AND WITH YOUR LIFE.

PRAISE YOU LORD!  WE LIVE FOR YOU JESUS.  HALLELUJAH!

Mark 10:46-52 (NKJV)

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus
46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.
Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”
50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.
51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”
52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

♥——————————————————————————————————————–♥
Let's put a couple of things in context first:

"Son of David," was a popular way of addressing Jesus as the Messiah, because it was know that the Messiah would be a descendant of King David (Isaiah 9:7)- which was Joseph's lineage .
Beggars were a common sight in most towns.  Because most occupations of the day required physical labor, anyone with a crippling disease or disability was at a severe disadvantage and was usually forced to beg, even though God's laws commanded care for needy people (Leviticus 25:35-38), still does...  Blindness was considered a curse from God for sin (John 9:2), but Jesus refuted this idea when He reached out to heal the blind.

First, God does not curse us with illness because we've been bad in life.  Nor does He just strike us with illnesses to play around with our lives.  This is NOT who God is.  Please remember we live in human bodies, they don't last forever.  And due to the many imperfections that reside in our world from sin, we often suffer from some pretty devastating things.  But God, is so good; He can do the amazing things through and with our sufferings... but do you believe He can?

Bartimaeus could not see Jesus, but still had faith in Him.  The fact that he called Jesus the Son of David shows that he recognized Jesus as the Messiah.  His faith in Jesus as the Messiah brought about his healing.
Who is Jesus to you?  Are you fighting with the issue of not being able to see Him, in order to believe in Him.
This is an area where I can only draw from personal experience.  For me, Jesus is more real than anyone else in my life.  Not because I've made Him something to accommodate my lifestyle.  But because He has made a total transformation of me.  Who I am today is not anyone I could have dreamed of being, and the amazing thing is that He isn't done with me.  Personally, I don't need to see a physical human form to know that Jesus is real and at awesome work in my life; and at work in all of YOUR lives.  It’s all so visible if we only allow the Word to change our perspectives.  The fact that You are even reading The Good News today is Jesus at work.  Trust Him!

As we read this Word every day, we learn who Jesus is; and as we live desiring more of Him in our  lives - we actually get to experience, witness, and know without a doubt all that He is doing in our hearts and lives.  But just as Jesus didn't go around screaming "HEY, I'M THE MESSIAH PEOPLE!!!  I'M THE ONE WHO IS GOING TO SAVE YOUR LIVES.  BELIEVE IN ME!!!"  He isn't going to do this in your life either.  He calls you but you have to make moves by faith and come to Him - every day.  You don't accept Him and that's it.  You have to make the choice, in all that you do, every day of your life.

Don't let anyone stop you. Don't let what you see deter you.  Cry out to Jesus.  Call to Him.  Let your faith guide you.  Let Jesus heal you and send you the right way.

**********************************************************
Daily Prayer: ONLY YOU AND JESUS KNOW THE EXACT AREA WHERE YOUR FAITH IS LACKING.  I ENCOURAGE YOU TO PRAY TO HIM ABOUT THAT AND ASK HIM TO SHOW YOU HOW TO INCREASE IN THAT AREA-SO THAT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE THE WONDERFUL FREEDOM THAT COMES FROM ACCEPTING, LOVING AND LIVING WITH JESUS CHRIST.
We love you Jesus.  Amen!

Celebrating Rosa!!!!

TGN would like to celebrate the anniversary of Rosa's decision to be baptized on this day!!!

God loves you so much Rosa that He gave His one and only Son so that YOU, the believer in Jesus - may not be lost, but have eternal life.

Love You Rosa; Grace & Peace to you day after day after day!

Acts 2:38, 41 ( Amplified)
38And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
41Therefore those who accepted and welcomed his message were baptized, and there were added that day about 3,000 souls.

IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW CAN HELP PLEASE CONTACT LT

Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of my father, Hector V, I would like to thank family and friends for their prayers and individual efforts in finding my dad a living kidney donor. Unfortunately, to this point we have not found a match within our family.  We hope that with the more specific information provided in this letter, you would intensify your efforts within your individual network to help us find a donor.  My father will soon enter the dialysis stage and is only in his second year on the “Deceased Donor’s Waiting List.”

Living donors offer the best opportunity for success.  A Living Donor’s kidney last twice as long as one from a deceased donor and can be transplanted right away. Today’s kidney transplant surgical techniques are extremely different than the historical impression most people have of the procedure. Today’s laparoscopic approach allows surgical instruments to access donor’s kidney through three small incisions and provides a shorter, usually two day ,recovery period for the donor.  My father’s insurance and our family resources will pay all expenses and lost wages.

In order to qualify as a living donor, an individual will be provided, at no cost, with a complete comprehensive physical examination.  They must be determined to be physically fit; in good health; free from cancer and kidney, heart, liver and lung disease. Individuals considered for living donation are usually between 18-60 years of age.  Gender and race are not factors in determining a successful match. Living donor’s blood test will determine blood type compatibility with my father’s type O.

Please join us once again in reaching out to as many people as possible to find a compatible person.  Pray that God will give someone the courage to come forward in giving my father a second chance; it is through people that God performs his miracles.

May God Bless You,

Yvonne

Ransom Paid

Prayer: I will sing of Your unfailing love forever!  Young and old will hear of Your faithfulness.  Your unfailing love will last forever.  Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.  All heaven will praise Your great wonders, LORD; myriads of angels will praise You for Your faithfulness.  For who in all of heaven can compare with the LORD?  What mightiest angel is anything like the LORD?  The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God.  He is far more awesome than all who surround His throne.  O LORD God of Heaven's Armies!  Where is there anyone as mighty as You, O LORD?  YOU ARE ENTIRELY FAITHFUL.  You rule the oceans.  You scatter Your enemies with Your mighty arm.  The heavens are Yours, and the earth is Yours; everything in the world is Yours - You created it all.  You created north and south.  Powerful is Your Arm!  Strong is Your hand!  Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength.  Righteousness and justice are the foundations of Your throne.  Unfailing love and truth walk before You as attendants.  Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of Your presence, LORD.  They rejoice all day long in Your wonderful reputation.  They exult in Your righteousness.  You are our glorious strength.  It please You to make us strong.  Yes, our protection comes form the LORD, and He, the Holy One of Israel, has given us our everlasting King, Jesus!!!!.  Amen, Amen! (Psalm 89 NLT)

PRAISE OUR GOD!

Mark 10:35-45 (NKJV) part 4

Jesus' life = A Ransom for Many
verse emphasis: 45

45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

♥——————————————————————————————————————–♥
This verse reveals not only the motive for Jesus' ministry but also the basis for our salvation.  A ransom was the price paid to release a slave.  Jesus paid a ransom for us because we could not pay it ourselves.  His death (which we just observed last week on Good Friday) released all of us from our slavery to sin.  The disciples thought Jesus' life and power would save them from Rome; Jesus said His death would save them from sin, an even greater slavery than Rome's; a greater enemy than Rome; more powerful than Rome could ever be. Sin carries this same weight today, this is why it's so important to get Jesus, accept/receive Jesus, and live with Jesus.

Psalm 44 NLT - "Rise up! Help us!  Ransom us because of your unfailing love."  God has given the people what He knew they would not only NEED, but ask for.  JESUS!

Is He ruler of Your life?

Mark 10:35-45 (NKJV) part 3

Jesus & Conflict
Verses emphasized :41-45

41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be greatly displeased with James and John. 42 But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 43 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. 44 And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

We are quick to become displeased by one another. Our expectations of one another are usually unattainable, because we desire people to be what WE want them to be, instead of who they are.  The above verses reads that the 10 disciples were displeased by John and James because of their request.  But do we really know why they were displeased?  For some, it could have been because they were mad they didn't think of it first; for others, it may have been a "how dare you even ask that" type of deal.  Whatever the reason for indignation, Jesus acknowledged the discord immediately and called all of His disciples to Himself, to teach them another area of changing their perspective.  Jesus basically told them again, "Look, those who follow me are different, are supposed to be different and be focused on serving instead of the getting." (If Jesus spoke like me that's how it would have come out LOL)

Are you sitting mad because someone was promoted over you (in any area of life)?  Maybe the customer behind you was helped before you, because they asked the new clerk a question at the right time.  It could also be work related; does it seem like people are moving up and you are consistently looked over.  Well, it's time to change your perspective.  Instead of looking for ways to feed the hurt (because I'm not denying feelings won't be hurt - but instead of feeding them); how can you focus your eyes on Jesus and do what He is calling you to do.  John and James' request, was a self-inspired request, it was about them; they were asking for a position that wasn't prepared for them.  This is where the discord starts; when our motives are totally about ourselves, there is no room for God.  We won't ever discover what He has prepared for us, if we're always going after what He has prepared for someone else... and we end up hating them for it.  How silly, right?  But it happens, I've been a victim of it several times.

Let our motives be about and for Him, in all that we do and experience.  Let's follow Jesus' example and confront conflict immediately.  Bring it to Jesus and handle it HIS way, not our own way.  Let no bitter root become planted in you (Hebrews 12:15).  Issues are solved gracefully when we trust in Him.

Daily Prayer:  Mighty God, I want to flourish in Your house like King David; trusting in Your unfailing love and praising your name forever.  LORD, help me acknowledge areas of unforgiveness head on, and by Your Spirit address it correctly and rid myself of that bitterness completely.  For my hope is in Your Name, for your Name is good!  In Jesus' Name.  Amen (Psalm 52).
