Ransom Paid

Prayer: I will sing of Your unfailing love forever!  Young and old will hear of Your faithfulness.  Your unfailing love will last forever.  Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.  All heaven will praise Your great wonders, LORD; myriads of angels will praise You for Your faithfulness.  For who in all of heaven can compare with the LORD?  What mightiest angel is anything like the LORD?  The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God.  He is far more awesome than all who surround His throne.  O LORD God of Heaven's Armies!  Where is there anyone as mighty as You, O LORD?  YOU ARE ENTIRELY FAITHFUL.  You rule the oceans.  You scatter Your enemies with Your mighty arm.  The heavens are Yours, and the earth is Yours; everything in the world is Yours - You created it all.  You created north and south.  Powerful is Your Arm!  Strong is Your hand!  Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength.  Righteousness and justice are the foundations of Your throne.  Unfailing love and truth walk before You as attendants.  Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of Your presence, LORD.  They rejoice all day long in Your wonderful reputation.  They exult in Your righteousness.  You are our glorious strength.  It please You to make us strong.  Yes, our protection comes form the LORD, and He, the Holy One of Israel, has given us our everlasting King, Jesus!!!!.  Amen, Amen! (Psalm 89 NLT)

PRAISE OUR GOD!

Mark 10:35-45 (NKJV) part 4

Jesus' life = A Ransom for Many
verse emphasis: 45

45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

♥——————————————————————————————————————–♥
This verse reveals not only the motive for Jesus' ministry but also the basis for our salvation.  A ransom was the price paid to release a slave.  Jesus paid a ransom for us because we could not pay it ourselves.  His death (which we just observed last week on Good Friday) released all of us from our slavery to sin.  The disciples thought Jesus' life and power would save them from Rome; Jesus said His death would save them from sin, an even greater slavery than Rome's; a greater enemy than Rome; more powerful than Rome could ever be. Sin carries this same weight today, this is why it's so important to get Jesus, accept/receive Jesus, and live with Jesus.

Psalm 44 NLT - "Rise up! Help us!  Ransom us because of your unfailing love."  God has given the people what He knew they would not only NEED, but ask for.  JESUS!

Is He ruler of Your life?
