Bartimaeus Chooses to Follow Jesus (verse emphasis :52)

When I read The Good News this morning, this verse stuck out; so I had to create a part 2.  If you weren't caught by this verse, let me explain why.

Jesus told Bartimaeus to "Go YOUR way..." after He was healed.  Jesus did not say "follow me."  He didn't push Bartimaeus in any direction and this resulted in Bartimaeus having the power to make a choice; and he chose wisely, to follow Jesus after receiving His sight.  He didn't take his healing and use it to take part in selfish activity or return to sin.  His faith wasn't simply to use Jesus or for Jesus to do only for him.  He received His sight and decided to live for Jesus.  To honor the Messiah, the only reason worth living.
Listen, we have each received LIFE, and LIFE more abundantly in choosing to serve Jesus; but what are we doing with that LIFE?  Have we chosen to make our way, separate from Jesus?  Or is your way the same as Bartimaeus... Are you following Jesus?

I can't stress it enough: You have to make the choice, in all that you do, every day of your life.
Don’t let anyone stop you. Don’t let what you see deter you.  But sometimes it's not other people; are you standing in your own way?  I ask these questions to get us all to think.  Stop ignoring and face whatever it is, keeping the full glory of our LORD in your life.  Cry out to Jesus.  Call to Him.  Let your faith guide you.  Let Jesus lead you.

Today is the day to put off the old and PUT ON THE NEW!  Only you and God know exactly what that means for your life specifically.

Daily Prayer: GOD IS CALLING FOR INTIMACY WITH US AND CHANGE IN OUR HEARTS AND OUR ACTIONS.  LET THIS PRAYER COME FROM YOUR HEART.  BE REAL WITH JESUS, HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE HIM.  REPENT.  TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE GOD WANTS TO MAKE IN AND WITH YOUR LIFE.

PRAISE YOU LORD!  WE LIVE FOR YOU JESUS.  HALLELUJAH!
