Fruitfulness Part 2 - The Temple

Hello-
So I didn't receive any requests of needing another day to sit with the "fig tree," so we're moving on...  The post will always be there for you, of course.  Lets pray:

Thank You LORD, for Your Heavenly Word today.  We are delighted to hear from You and look forward to what You have in store for each of us today; not only to receive revelation, contain it and keep for ourselves, BUT to share with others; through our actions and words.  Forgive us LORD for our selfish ways, and help us to forgive one another for whatever offense(s) we are holding.  Thank You for teaching us how to live according to Your loving way.  Praise the Name of Jesus!  Amen.

JESUS' MINISTRY IN JERUSALEM

Mark 11:11,15 -19 (NKJV)

Jesus Cleanses the Temple
11 And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.
15 So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 16 And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. 17 Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’”
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destroy Him; for they feared Him, because all the people were astonished at His teaching. 19 When evening had come, He went out of the city.

The Temple was supposed to be a place of worship, but true worship had disappeared.  Money changers and merchants did big business during Passover.  Those who came from foreign countries had to have their money changed into Temple currency because this was the only money accepted for the Temple tax and for the purchase of sacrificial animals.  Often inflated exchange rate enriched the money changers, and the exorbitant prices of animals made the merchants wealthy.  Their stalls were set up in the Temple's court of the Gentiles, frustrating the intentions of non-Jews, who had come to worship God (Isaiah 56:6-7).  Jesus was moved to stand for God, because His house of worship had become a place of extortion and a barrier to Gentiles who wanted to worship.

The Temple represents a few things for us today - (1) our bodies, (2) the church/body of believers, (3) and the building itself by which we congregate, worship God and fellowship.

Where does the corruption lie in your temple(s)?  Where is true worship of God absent?

And what are you going to do about it (DO IN A MATTER THAT HONORS GOD)?

*suggestion: start with you before you begin to call out everyone else.

It time to pray...
