TGN: Matthew

Prayer: Father, Your Word is so good. It works everything out, and to my good. It puts me in a better place every day. It gives me the confidence that can only come from you. It's living; living inside of me; and therefore I am alive. It's amazing. I can always look for You and to You in Your Word. Thank You Jesus. Amen.

Mark 3 v. 13-19 (NIV)
Emphasis on v. 18
13 Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. 14 He appointed twelve— designating them apostles— that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach 15 and to have authority to drive out demons. 16 These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter) 17 James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means Sons of Thunder); 18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew...

LOL- You should have these verses memorized, if you're taking the time to read them every day.
Let's learn about...
MATTHEW
*A.K.A Levi
*Occupation: Tax Collector
*Outstanding Characteristics: Despised outcast because of his dishonest career.
*Major Events in Matthew's Life:
1) Abandoned his corrupt (and financially profitable) way of life to follow Jesus.
2) Invited Jesus to his home with his friends.
3) Wrote the Gospel of Matthew.
*What Jesus said about Matthew:
-Jesus called Matthew to be a disciple.
* A Key Lesson from Matthew's life: Christianity is not for people who think they're already good; it is for people who know they've failed and want help.
DO YOU WANT HELP?

Jesus makes impact through ordinary people.

Prayer: LORD, I call to your attention those calling out to You in their distress. Make known to them, that You answer them. Help them to open their hearts and minds to wait on Your discretion, and not to just expect what the limited human mind can ask for. For You are Great and greatly to be praised. In Jesus' name. Amen.
