The Good News: Weekend Review - Matthew 15 & 16

Happy Weekend ladies and gents!  Love-LaToya

PRAYER: LORD, I will praise You, no matter my circumstance.  Thank You for continuing to teach me Your Word.  Keeping me on the right path, desiring godly things at all times.  Thank you for forgiving my mistakes, and kindly leading me in the right direction.  You are the best!  When people say this statement, they really don't mean it about one another at times, it's just to appease the ego.  But for You, it's true.  There is no other God like You.  In Jesus' mighty name- the name above ALL names.  Amen.

LEARNING & KNOWING THE WORD OF GOD IS A PRIVILEGE.
IT GUARDS YOU FROM THE DECEPTIONS OF THIS WORLD.

MATTHEW 15: 29-39 Jesus Feed The Four Thousand:
How Easily Do You Give Up On God?: Jesus had compassion on the crowds that came to Him to be healed and praised God. He wanted to feed them. Jesus had already fed 5,000 people with five loaves before the disciples; yet they still questioned this time how they were going to feed 4,000 with seven loaves. Like the disciples, we often forget that if God cared for us in the past, He will do the same now. When facing a difficult situation, remember that God cares for you and trust Him to work faithfully again.
I can admit I already needed to be reminded of this...
ARE YOU FACING A DIFFICULT SITUATION? HAS GOD TAKEN CARE OF YOU IN THE PAST?
REMEMBER THAT GOD CARES FOR YOU. TRUST HIM TO WORK FAITHFULLY IN YOUR LIFE (IN EVERY SITUATION)!

MATTHEW 16: 1-4 The Demand For A Sign:
Does God Need To Prove Himself, Before You Will Believe in Him?: The Pharisees and Sadducces came to Jesus to test Him, asking Him to show them a sign from heaven in order to disprove Jesus in some way. They had already decided not to believe in him anyway. But Jesus did not entertain their foolishness. Know this is a constant trick of the enemy, to get you all worked up by another person(s) in order to disprove your faith. Don't fall into the trap. Take Jesus example, (v. 2-4) simply state the Truth and move on. Don't be lead into an argument.
WHAT IS KEEPING YOU FROM BELIEVING AND TRUSTING IN GOD?
TAKE THAT ONE STEP IN FAITH AND BELIEVE! CRY OUT TO GOD, HE WILL HEAR YOU.

MATTHEW 16: 5-12 The Yeast Of The Pharisees and Sadducees:
Guard Yourself: Jesus told the disciples to (v. 6), "Be careful. Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." Jesus was telling the disciples to be on guard against the wrong teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducess. Like a small amount of yeast works in bread, a small amount of evil can affect a target group of people. Be on guard in every way. Know the Word!
ARE YOU GUARDED AGAINST FALSE TEACHINGS?
SOMETIMES IT'S BETTER TO SAY NO, THAN TO APPEASE PEOPLE. PROTECT YOURSELF.

MATTHEW 16: 12-20  Peter's Confession of Christ:
Christ, The Son of The Living God: Jesus asked the disciples, (v. 13), "Who do the people say the Son of Man is?"  The people thought Jesus was a prophet reincarnate. Jesus then asked His disciples (v. 15-20), "But what about you?" Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.
IF JESUS WERE TO ASK YOU "WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?" HOW WOULD YOU ANSWER?
LET GOD REVEAL HIMSELF TO YOU.

MATTHEW 16: 21-28  Jesus Predicts His Death
(v.21-28) From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!"
Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life wll lost it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfrits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
HOW DOES THIS SCRIPTURE SPEAK TO YOU?
REPLIES WELCOMED!

Jesus said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." Mark 16:15
