Guard Yourself

If you would like to receive the daily emails, please visit http://groups.mac.com/thegoodnewsforyou
You will have to create a mac id, but it's extremely simple and should only take you a minute or two.

I'm so excited to hear about your journeys.  Those of you who have reached out to share your triumphs, struggles and prayer request; first, thank you for trusting me.  I do not take it lightly, and I spend time interceding on your behalf, because it is important.  Your spirit is important.  It's not separated from the secular, we have to live in a hard world-therefore your spirit needs to be built on strength.  And you know where to get that from... don't you? LOL  I hope so.  Second, you are good!  You are blessed and highly favored.  Know it!  Also, thanks to you who send me little notes of encouragement from time to time.  I totally appreciate and value you,
Love-LT

PRAYER: Hallelujah, You are so worthy to be praised!  I just want to thank You LORD, because I can't thank You enough.  Let me not forget to thank You for what I've seen You do in my life, but especially for all of the unseen glory You have placed over my life.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.

MATTHEW 16:5-12

THE YEAST OF THE PHARISEES AND SADDUCEES:
(v.5-12) When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread. "Be careful,"  Jesus said to them. "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." (The disciples) discussed this among themselves and said, "It is because we didn't bring any bread."
Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, "You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? Do you still not understand? Don't you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how may basketfuls you gathered? How is it you don't understand that I was not talking to you about bread? Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Jesus always uses words that are familiar in the given time.  Yeast is put into bread to make it rise, and it takes only a little to affect a whole batch of dough.  Yeast, unfortunately is also another term we use for an infection in the body-that can be spread to others.  Jesus used yeast as an example of how a small amount of evil can affect a target group of people.  The wrong teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees were leading many people astray.  It's the mission of many people today, to lead people away from God.  If you really think about it, they're taking God out of our daily lives- school, television, work ("happy holidays"- what happened to Merry Christmas?  You don't have to celebrate it to wish me a merry Christmas), etc.  Any type of wrong affects others.  So guard yourself against it, in every way.  Even in taking part in a wrong action/teaching.

PONDER THIS:
ARE YOU GUARDED AGAINST FALSE TEACHINGS?

ACTION:
SOMETIMES IT'S BETTER TO SAY NO, THAN TO APPEASE PEOPLE. PROTECT YOURSELF.
